Our Story

Our Governance

Stardysharp is governed through a unique three-tier governance structure that promotes accountability, participation and community ownership. At the highest level is the Board of Directors, which provides strategic leadership, institutional oversight and long-term direction.

The second level comprises the Executive Council, representing the organization’s six constituent communities together with senior management. The Council translates Board policy into programmes while ensuring that community voices remain central to organizational decision-making.

The third level is the Secretariat, led by the Chief Executive Officer and supported by professional staff responsible for programme implementation, finance, monitoring and evaluation, communications, partnerships and organizational operations.

This governance model ensures that strategic decisions remain informed by grassroots realities while maintaining strong institutional accountability.

A Grassroots Network Built From The Bottom Up

Perhaps the most distinctive characteristic of Stardysharp is its implementation model.Rather than delivering programmes directly from the national office, the organization works through decentralized community structures that ensure local ownership and sustainability. At the grassroots are County Chapters, which are member organizations formally registered with Stardysharp and mandated to coordinate activities within their respective counties.Within schools, implementation is undertaken through SHARP Clubs, where young people participate in leadership development, advocacy, accountability and civic engagement.

These clubs are supported by SHARP Champions, adolescent leaders who mobilize their peers, facilitate awareness activities and promote community action. To strengthen participatory governance, SHARP Clubs are further supported through a Shadow Cabinet model that enables learners to practice democratic leadership, accountability and decision-making while engaging directly with school governance systems. This layered implementation structure creates a genuine bottom-up development model where priorities originate from communities themselves, are coordinated through County Chapters and ultimately inform national policy engagement and programme development.

Our Flagship Innovations

The Stardy Electronic Advocacy System (SEAS)

SEAS is Stardysharp’s flagship digital innovation.

Originally conceived as an advocacy platform, it has evolved into an integrated enterprise management and community empowerment ecosystem comprising twelve interconnected modules supporting governance, programme management, human resources, finance, procurement, compliance, monitoring and evaluation, communications, resource mobilization, welfare services and community engagement.

SEAS also powers Community-Led Advocacy, Community-Led Monitoring and evidence generation, ensuring that decision-making is informed by reliable community-generated data.

The Sustainably Healthy Adolescent Response Programme (SHARP)

Building on the foundation provided by SEAS, Stardysharp developed the Sustainably Healthy Adolescent Response Programme (SHARP)—its flagship integrated programme for adolescent health and community development.

SHARP responds to the interconnected challenges facing adolescents, including HIV, Tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, climate change, leadership, governance and civic participation.

Implemented through the SEAS ecosystem, SHARP combines four strategic pillars:

  • Community Systems Strengthening
  • Pandemic Preparedness and Response
  • Research, Learning and Evidence Generation
  • Resource Mobilization and Sustainable Financing

Through County Chapters, SHARP Clubs, SHARP Champions, Community-Led Monitoring and digital platforms such as iSTAR, SHARP empowers adolescents to become leaders, innovators, advocates and active contributors to healthier communities.
